The photographer

Hugi Guttormsson is an amateur photographer who was born and raised in Fljótsdalshérað, specifically in the rural town of Kross in the ancient Fellasveit, which today is part of the municipality of Múlaþing. His roots lie in the countryside, where natural beauty, freedom and tranquility were all surrounding him and a big part of everyday life.

 

He developed an early interest in traveling and outdoor activities, and since then Iceland's nature has always had a special place in his heart. In addition to that, he became interested in jeep trips and hiking in the highlands of Iceland, and at the same time he also developed an interest in photography and a burning passion for capturing the various wonders of Icelandic nature.

Hugi has held several photography exhibitions and his photos have appeared in several magazines. The idea had been in the works for a long time to put the photographs on the world wide web where they could be made available to others for their enjoyment. In the end, I decided to drag my father to shore in that, grabbed the idea and used it in a final project at the Menntaskolin in Egilsstaðir, and the result is this website with a sample of his pictures with the possibility that people can buy prints of them on photo paper or canvas.

 

Hopefully these samples of Huga's photographs will grow and prosper and who knows but that one day this will become a large and auspicious collection of photographs.
